New York Skyline

What to expect when you visit New York for the first time.

My phone clicking gracious Statue of Liberty.

Let's just say I am not good with pictures but I am working on it!

It all began when one day my parents decided to send me far far away from my hometown to continue my education. If I remember clearly, I was in my junior year of high school when my parents announced to send me away.

First, I thought they were playing around with me. A few days later, when I saw them actually working towards sending me away made me realize they were serious and way too determined.

After completing the process of getting enrolled into The Pennsylvania State University, my parents decided to come with me to drop me off at my new place for the next 4 years. They arranged the entire trip starting from planning the first few days in Manhattan, New York to the very last day in State College, Pennsylvania till they departed.

Like any teenage girl, I was excited and stupid. Opened to new possibilities and experiences. Coming to New-York was definitely a game changer.

PRO TIP: Always plan way ahead before entering New York. Always stick to the plan or else it is very easy to get lost in the streets and and never take pictures with the costume dressed con-artist (unless you have cash in your hand.)

A long walk because me and my parents got off at a wrong bus stop. Oops!

What I learned from New-York City

  • Never step out of your hotel without a proper plan.

  • Must eat the street HOT DOG, which is available at every corner.

  • Click pictures with the costume dressed con-artist only if you have the cash to pay.

  • Times Square steps are a must to visit and click pictures.

  • Definitely enjoy the street showl; who doesn't love free entertainment.

  • Never ever, in any way, get off the bus at a stop without knowing. It can and would result in hours of free walk and steps.

  • Have a lovely boat ride to see the Statue of Liberty.

Me acting as if I was excited to see Statue of Liberty.

Amazingggg graffiti at every corner.

My entire trip to New York City was breathtaking. Having the opportunity to live inside Manhattan and on the Times Square gave me the chance to explore New York even more. New-York city was definitely exciting news for me.

And just like that my visit to New York inspired me to be more of a late-nighter. Since no one sleeps in New York City.

New York City was never about visiting new places, it made me realize how much family means to me because soon enough they were going to leave for home.

Meet my lovely parents.

As for me, I found a new home in State College, PA.
