How's your (Greek) Life treating you?

This is for every girl who thinks they are not Greek Life worthy.

Yeah! This is me in the picture, holding the letters of my Greek organization. Shocking right? I was too.

Everyone's college life is full of surprises. Well, I was no other exception. Bad enough I had to leave my family back in India, I had a terrible group of friends in college who never supported me.

At the end of my freshman year, I realized I had to get out of my circle of 'fake' college friends. Hence, in my sophomore year, I decided to go through the recruitment process and join a Greek organization. Well going out of my comfort zone was my main priority but other than that I wanted to meet new people....good people.

Hey! no judgments. Everyone deserves a good circle of friends to rely on. I try to see the good in everyone but those people have no good bone in their body.

Well, according to the definition of friend, a friend is someone who supports your decision and always has your back. Fortunately, my college friends didn't know the definition of friends by heart and always sought chances to stab me in the back.

Probably, at this point you can literally see the wounds on my back. Therefore, I decided to let go of my fake friends.

Anyways, after struggling for almost 10 days with keeping up with school work along with the recruitment process, I ended up joining 'Sigma Kappa.' Yes! That is my Greek organization and I could not be more proud of myself.

C'mon, Greek life is more fun than people portray it to be. Rumor has it, it is all about partying but only an insider can tell you the real story.

Greek life doesn't really revolve around having fun during the weekends.

Things I Learned from Sigma Kappa

• Even though you don't know the entire organization, yet they have your back. NO MATTER WHAT!

• Everyone trusts and encourages each other to do wonders, not only academically but professionally.

• You always have a group of people to talk to and rely upon.

• You can always share your clothes with these girls.

• Definitely, it teaches you to wake up early and attend boring yet unique sessions.

• Spending money on sister dates and talking non-stop.

• Real concept of sisterhood and friendship.

• You have to follow strict rules still you can have fun.

• Real definition of forever friends.

Honestly, since I have joined Sigma Kappa, my entire college experience has changed. It felt like having a breath of fresh air. Restarting my life by making exceptional crazy sisters and lifelong best friends. I met people who respect me and believe in my strengths.

A piece of advice: Listen to your heart and not others because if I had listened to my college friends, I never would have met my forever sisters. If I ever knew Sigma Kappa could change my life in such an amazing way, I would have gone through recruitment in my freshman year and never would have let people curse my life.
